The outlook of a successful volunteer needs to be non-judgemental and accepting of diversity in gender preferences, lifestyles, culture, religious views and disability.
Initial orientation to the aged care environment or home, ongoing training and support is provided.
Be matched on a one-to-one basis with a resident with similar interests, or a small group of 2 - 3 residents, visit at least fortnightly, provide a link with the community, share interests and hobbies and show a genuine interest in the person. Positions are undertaken within the Hume area, we currently have specific needs in Wodonga and Beechworth areas

Details | Volunteers are required to act as a tour guide, provide customer service, sell merchandise, deal with customer inquiries and special events, and provide information to visitors, at a National Trust site in the Wodonga area. Requirements are a friendly manner, ability to be sympathetic, good customer service skills, confidence in public speaking, and physically able to walk across the site. Training will be provided, availability on a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday preferred, but days/times can be negotiated.
